People Are Obsessed With Online Waxing Videos…And Um, What?

We like to remain open-minded when it comes to weird internet trends. Bring on the pimple-popping and earwax buildup removal videos, we say! But as we continue to island hop from one weird video craze to another, our support has begun to wane. Take, for instance, waxing videos — are they actually satisfying like those who post them claim? Or do a select group of people just like watching others in pain?

It might depend on the type of waxing video one prefers. Some are simply compilations of estheticians and waxing specialists removing hair cleanly, and with little to no pain. One video with over 1.4 million views titled, “Hair removal – Gross Or Satisfying? Best Waxing Video Compilation,” is less about the pain infliction and more about the pleasure of watching those wax strips come off in one fell swoop, leaving fresh and hairless skin behind. And we’ll admit, there is something incredibly satisfying about that.

But other videos like, “Hilarious Men Regretting Facial Waxing Compilation,” which has over 1.2 million views, is clearly all about watching guys in pain. Although these kinds of videos are probably intended to be pure comedy, we definitely know some people who could get some satisfaction out of these as well. Sorry, dudes.

Others out there might be into waxing videos because they love a good #TransformationTuesday.

The below video called, “THE MOST SATISFYING EYEBROW TRANSFORMATION COMPILATION,” has garnered a whopping 3.2 million views since its February 5th, 2018 posting.

And this waxing transformation video from April 2015 has been viewed over 5.3 million times. It’s all about the before and after, we suppose.

Hm…perhaps we’ve just hit a wall with the weird videos. We just don’t get the appeal of this viral trend. But, to be fair, we’re kind of partial to shaving (or no hair removal at all, tbh) anyway.
