    Reddit Has Spoken: This Is The Best Foundation For Dry Skin

    If you deal with dry skin on a regular basis, then you already know that finding the perfect face makeup can be tough. The wrong foundation can look too cakey on your skin, enhancing any flakiness and making it feel even more dry. It can actually be a struggle to find a foundation that feels good while making your skin look dewy and glowy. If that’s the look you’re going for, then you’re in luck.

    One Reddit thread firmly believes they have found the best foundation for dry skin, and it’s definitely something you’ll want to try.

     

    In a Reddit thread on the sub-thread MakeupAddicts, reported on by Bustle, a user asks others for help finding a “light, hydrating” foundation. As you can imagine, there were a lot of suggestions, but one of them stood out more than the others. The top-rated comment, from user princesspoohs, claims thatĀ LancĆ“me Absolue Cream foundation is the best one to buy.

    The user said, “LancĆ“me Absolue Cream Foundation in the jar…itā€™s the ONLY foundation that doesn’t look dry or cakey on my skin. Seriously, it’s amazing. There’s only like 12 shades though and I have no idea what kind of gradient there is because the shade names are so weird.” She added that although most foundations make her skin look more dry, the LancĆ“me one doesn’t because it’s “super rich and emollient.”

    The same user had some more advice on how to get the best results. She said she uses Becca First Light Priming Filter Face Primer first, mixed with a little Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector on the sides of her nose.

    As any makeup-lover knows, the way you apply foundation makes a big difference, and princesspoohs explains what she does.

     

    She says, “I actually apply the foundation sorta in a weird way, I use my fingers in sort of a pat-roll motion, because I donā€™t think it needs to be buffed in with a brush and I havenā€™t used my beauty blender with it yet, because the foundation is so expensive that Iā€™ve been too scared to waste so much product with a beauty blender application! Iā€™m sure I will eventually, if just on days where I donā€™t have enough time to do the finger technique (Iā€™m not just wiping it on with my fingers, Iā€™m kind of mimicking a beauty blender effect by doing the pat/press-roll thing). Itā€™s the only foundation that I donā€™t use a brush or blender with.”

    She also suggests finishing with a setting powder and swears by Marc Jacobs Finish Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder. She says, “Iā€™ve legitimately NEVER found a powder that doesnā€™t look terrible on me, and this one is just… basically undetectable. Itā€™s amazing, and it pairs perfectly with this foundation. What I do is use just enough powder to set, with a super fluffy brush.”
