His goal was a “classic pixie reimagined through a modern, editorial lens,” keeping the perimeter sleek while creating airy separation and controlled height at the crown. After conditioning and smoothing the hair, Moreno used spray wax for grip, then worked through small sections with a flat iron, lifting and bending pieces in different directions. He ultimately used his fingers to separate sections, creating that deliberately undone texture.
Her Makeup Became More Visible the Moment the Hair Disappeared
With no long waves competing for attention, Zendaya’s makeup suddenly had much more room to register. Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas leaned into rosy blush, luminous skin, frosted eyes, and glossy lips, using Prada Beauty throughout. Casillas said the sparkling crystals on her gown inspired the glow and frosty textures, while the overall beauty direction referenced late-1990s red carpets.
