Amazon is expanding access to the diabetes drug Ozempic through its U.S. pharmacy kiosks, allowing patients to pick up prescriptions or receive same-day delivery in select locations. The move is part of Amazon Pharmacy’s broader push into healthcare services, combining in-person kiosks with its fast logistics network. The company says the goal is to make prescription access faster and more convenient for patients with chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes. The rollout includes both kiosk pickup at medical sites and home delivery options in thousands of U.S. cities.

The new offering allows patients with valid prescriptions to access Ozempic directly through Amazon’s kiosk system at select One Medical locations. After a medical appointment or prescription approval, patients can retrieve medication on-site without visiting a traditional pharmacy. Amazon has been expanding these kiosks since 2025 to streamline access to common prescriptions. The system is designed to reduce wait times and simplify medication pickup.

In addition to kiosk pickup, Amazon is offering same-day delivery of Ozempic to nearly 3,000 cities and towns across the United States. The company plans to expand coverage to approximately 4,500 locations by the end of the year. This service is intended to bridge gaps in pharmacy access, especially in areas where in-person pickup may be inconvenient. Patients can order through Amazon Pharmacy once prescriptions are verified.

Ozempic is part of a class of GLP-1 medications used to treat type 2 diabetes by regulating blood sugar levels. Amazon has been expanding its presence in this drug category since 2021, already offering similar treatments through its pharmacy services. The addition of Ozempic strengthens its position in a fast-growing market that includes both diabetes and weight-loss therapies. The company says it aims to provide broader treatment options through a single platform.

Amazon offers Ozempic for approximately $149 per month for cash-pay customers, depending on dosage. Patients with insurance coverage may pay as little as $25 per month. The pricing structure is designed to make the medication more accessible while working with insurance providers and discount programs. Amazon also applies manufacturer coupons automatically at checkout when available.

The pharmacy kiosks are intended to eliminate long wait times often associated with traditional pharmacies. Patients can receive medications shortly after appointments, often within minutes. Amazon says the system improves convenience by integrating pharmacy pickup directly into healthcare visits. The kiosks currently operate in select One Medical locations, primarily in California and other expanding markets.

Amazon’s expansion into prescription drugs is part of a larger healthcare strategy that includes One Medical and online pharmacy services. The company has invested heavily in logistics and healthcare infrastructure to support faster medication delivery. By combining telehealth, prescriptions, and delivery, Amazon aims to create an end-to-end healthcare experience. The Ozempic rollout reflects this broader business direction.

Half of Amazon’s U.S. pharmacy customers already have access to same-day delivery, with full nationwide delivery available within a few days. The company says this ensures consistent access even in rural or underserved areas. Expansion plans continue to increase coverage across thousands of additional locations. This logistics network is central to Amazon’s healthcare delivery model.

The expansion into Ozempic delivery places Amazon in direct competition within the rapidly growing GLP-1 drug market. These medications are increasingly used for both diabetes and weight management, driving high demand globally. Pharmaceutical companies and digital health platforms are racing to expand access and distribution. Amazon’s entry adds a powerful logistics-driven competitor to the space.

Amazon’s rollout of Ozempic through kiosks and same-day delivery signals a major shift in how prescription medications are distributed in the United States.
