Altogether, six family members shared the food at the table. The parents described the approach as eating “family style,” a practice where dishes are shared among everyone.

Beyond criticism, some viewers raised concerns about restaurant etiquette. Several argued that six diners occupying a table while purchasing only two meals could affect the restaurant and staff. Others claimed that the strategy might take away space from customers who would normally order full meals.

Callie Mileham addressed the controversy through a series of additional TikTok videos. She clarified that the family did not request extra salad beyond what came with the meals. She also explained that each Tour of Italy includes its own salad portion. According to her, the family simply shared the portions already provided.

Another point of contention involved tipping. In response to criticism, Callie stated in a follow up video that the family left a $20 tip for their server. The payment screenshot in the earlier video did not show the tip, which led some viewers to assume that none had been given.
