Claims made by a British hacker have fueled decades of speculation about secret UFO information allegedly hidden inside U.S. government computer systems. The hacker said he accessed restricted military and space agency networks while searching for evidence of extraterrestrial technology and anti-gravity systems. During the intrusion, he claimed to have seen unusual files, including images of unidentified spacecraft and a document listing mysterious “non-terrestrial officers.” Although the allegations remain unproven, the story continues to circulate as one of the most unusual hacking cases tied to UFO conspiracies.

The claims come from Gary McKinnon, a Scottish systems administrator who admitted to accessing U.S. government computers in the early 2000s. Authorities accused him of carrying out what prosecutors described as one of the largest military computer hacks ever recorded. McKinnon said he was searching for information about suppressed technologies and possible evidence of UFO activity.

According to investigators, McKinnon gained unauthorized access to dozens of computers belonging to U.S. military branches and the space agency NASA between 2001 and 2002. U.S. authorities said the intrusions affected systems used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Department of Defense. Prosecutors alleged that the attacks disrupted some networks and caused significant operational problems.

McKinnon said his goal was not financial gain or espionage but a search for hidden knowledge. He believed the U.S. government might be concealing information about unidentified flying objects and advanced propulsion systems. During his exploration of the networks, he said he focused on files and databases that could reveal evidence of spacecraft not built by humans.

One of the most striking claims made by McKinnon involved an image he said he briefly saw while browsing government systems. According to his account, the photo appeared to show a long, cigar shaped object floating in space that did not resemble any known human spacecraft. He said the image disappeared before he could save a copy because his remote connection was interrupted.

McKinnon also claimed he discovered a spreadsheet listing what he described as “non-terrestrial officers.” The document allegedly contained names and references to ships with labels such as “USSS,” which he interpreted as standing for “United States Space Ship.” The claim has become one of the most widely repeated aspects of the story, though no public evidence has confirmed the document’s existence.

U.S. prosecutors said McKinnon accessed dozens of protected systems and caused widespread disruption while exploring the networks. Authorities estimated the investigation and repairs cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. The case drew international attention and led to a lengthy legal battle over whether the hacker should be extradited to the United States to face charges.

For years, U.S. officials sought to extradite McKinnon from the United Kingdom to stand trial in American courts. The case sparked debate over cybercrime laws, national security, and the treatment of foreign hackers. In 2012, the British government ultimately blocked his extradition due to concerns about his health and human rights.

    Why the Claims Remain Controversial

Despite the dramatic nature of McKinnon’s story, experts say there is no verified evidence supporting his claims about alien spacecraft or secret space fleets. Many scientists and government officials argue that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Without photographs, documents, or independent confirmation, the alleged discoveries remain part of a long running debate surrounding UFO reports and government secrecy.

More than two decades after the hacking incident, the claims made by Gary McKinnon still capture public attention. His story blends cybercrime, government secrecy, and UFO speculation into one of the most unusual cases involving military computer systems. While the alleged images and mysterious personnel lists have never been verified, the episode continues to fuel discussions about what information governments may still be keeping hidden.
