Meteorologist Max Schuster warns that another storm system is organizing across the central and eastern United States. The alert comes only days after rough weather swept through many of the same areas, so forecasters now watch the atmosphere closely as the new week begins. Early outlooks already show a broad corridor of severe weather potential stretching from the southern Plains toward the Midwest.

Schuster says warm Gulf moisture continues moving north while stronger winds build overhead, and that environment can support developing thunderstorms. Early storm activity may begin across the Deep South, then expand north as the system strengthens. Forecast teams continue tracking timing since small atmospheric changes can influence how storms organize.

Forecast guidance also points to several hazards developing as the system spreads east. Thunderstorms may produce damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes across parts of Texas, the Midwest, and the Great Lakes. Colder air then follows later in the week, which may bring brief snowfall to areas that faced severe storms earlier.

Monday Severe Weather Risk Across the Deep South

Storm development begins across the Deep South as the new system starts organizing early in the week, and meteorologist Max Schuster says the first risk zone stretches from northeast Texas through parts of Alabama and Tennessee. Forecast outlooks place the region under a slight risk, so thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and large hail may develop as atmospheric conditions build during the day.

Schuster says hail may become one of the early concerns as unstable air increases across the region. Areas near Little Rock and west toward Jackson, Mississippi remains under watch, which means storms there could produce strong wind gusts along with a low tornado threat if storm cells strengthen.

Storm development still depends on how conditions evolve through the afternoon, and Schuster noted that sunshine, earlier storms, and storm organization could influence how the day unfolds. Weather teams continue monitoring the region as forecasters watch whether storms organize enough to strengthen later in the day.

Tuesday Tornado Corridor Forms Near Midwest Warm Front

Forecast attention turns to Tuesday as the system expands into the Midwest, and meteorologist Max Schuster says conditions near a lifting warm front could support rotating thunderstorms. Storm Prediction Center outlooks place areas south of Chicago, including northern Illinois and northeastern Missouri, under an enhanced risk.

Schuster says the setup resembles a warm frontal pattern linked to recent tornado activity near Union City, Michigan, and that similarity raises concern as wind shear strengthens across the corridor. Storm risk stretches from southwest Michigan toward the Texas-Mexico border, so multiple regions may face damaging winds, large hail, and tornado potential.

Moisture moving north from the Gulf combines with strengthening winds above the surface, and that environment can support organized severe storms near the boundary. Forecast models show supercells possibly forming near northern Missouri and southern Iowa during the afternoon, then expanding toward the Midwest during the evening.

Midweek Storm Evolution And Late Week Temperature Swings

Forecast discussions now extend beyond the first storm rounds as meteorologist Max Schuster outlines how the weather pattern may evolve later in the week. Weather models show a low-pressure system moving out of the Southwest while warm Gulf air spreads north into the Midwest and Great Lakes.

Temperatures across parts of the region may rise above seasonal averages before the main cold front arrives, and then the front may push across the Midwest and Northeast during the middle of the week. Colder air may follow behind the departing storms, so areas near Chicago and parts of Michigan could move from severe storm conditions into colder overnight temperatures.

Forecast guidance also shows another development later in the week as cooler air settles across the region toward the weekend. Models indicate additional snow chances across the upper Great Lakes and parts of the Northeast from Friday into the weekend, and that pattern may bring one more cold surge before spring conditions return.
