Her video captured what happened when three bank employees questioned the couple’s financial decision in a way that left them both stunned. The commenter shared seeing multiple situations where couples split up, and one person drained shared accounts. According to this viewer, tellers need to make sure both people genuinely understand that either party can access 100% of the funds.

The legal reality is that joint accounts do create vulnerability. When two people share an account, either person can withdraw the entire balance without asking the other. The unsolicited suggestion felt presumptuous. Other viewers were even more direct in their reactions. “That’s so unprofessional omg 😭,” one person wrote. Another suggested, “Go in tomorrow and withdraw everything just to see the look on their faces 🤭,” with over 32,000 likes.

Many viewers argued that the tellers crossed a professional line regardless of their intentions. Macgregor Goulet, Zoe’s husband, responded directly to comments questioning their choice. He pointed out that his wife would carry and deliver their child through nine months of pregnancy and labor, describing that as far harder than any work he does. “It’s her money just as much as it is mine,” he added.

The viral video showed how banking decisions can clash with personal values about marriage, trust, and money. Different couples handle finances differently, from fully combined accounts to keeping everything separate. For some, joint banking makes managing households and kids easier.
